Chaos Thug Horse

 WFB 3rd edition chaos included a unit type for which there was no official miniatures at that time: Thug Horse i.e. mounted chaos thugs. Old School Miniatures Company brings us this nice set of six mounted thugs. I received my unit just before Christmas and now got the first model painted. Let´s see if I can find time to complete another one before new year.

Because he´s a chaos thug - just in the start of his way to Chaos, I kept

the looks of him quite ´normal´. Just the purple hair to give a hint of Slaaneshian corruption.

The same applies to his horse. It´s dark and mean looking but not yet mutated.

Pastel pink shield to give some color to the model.

Liked the details on the rider. Clean, sharp and easy to paint.

Last ones before Christmas

 My painting station is located in the corner of our dining room. And my wife thinks it does not fit well with the Christmas decorations. So I´m going to have to clean it up for holidays and take a break from hobbying. Anyway, here are the three space elfs I got completed before this type of "lockdown".

The one in the middle is actually a standard bearer but the stub on his back where

the banner pole is attached to had been filed down by the models previous owner.

As that pole or actually that back bag fit that very early 90´s guardian quite well

I stuck it on his back. Will propably make a paper banner for him later.

I tried to do some thorn decoration on the body armor of that chap on the right.

Not quite happy with the result but did not want to paint it over.

Leader for Cult Beastmen

 The Genestealer Cult Army beastmen don´t actually have a squad or platoon leader. They just come in bands whose size depend on the chaos power they are alligned with. As I intend to use my beastmen in WFB too I wanted to have a model that can be clearly distinquished as a unit leader. This Champion of Slaanesh model by Jes Goodwin is perfect for my purposes. A lovely sculpt he´s quite large and very fit to lead the beastmen.

Funny little detail: a daemonette face groin armor.

A space elf, his lunch box and a big blaster

Got into space elf painting mood again. After that commander it was time to another some heavy support element to my little force of pointy ears.

That´s one heavy duty lunch box there. And the shuriken catapult is a big one too.

Not to mention that las cannon itself.

So the helmet of this space elf is a bit different from most of his kin. It actually looks like as if it has that face mask part and then two other pieces that are connected there in the middle.

I don´t like paiting free hand ´cause I´m no good in that but this time I got

something quite right with those thorns.

Five years of blogging

 I almost forgot that today is the 5th anniversary of this blog. And because of that I haven´t prepared anything special for the occation... Quite pathetic if you ask me.

I was however able to complete something that I haven´t been painting for some time now. A space elf commader in carapace armor and wielding chain sword and a shuriken pistol.

Painted in the same read and white pattern as the rest of my space elves.
